Ritual Art

Yuliia Datchenko has been making pysanky and paper cut-outs since 1998. She has learned pysanky making from such artists as Andriy Pushkarov.  She has recreated the pysany patterns from Yekaterinoslav Governorate stored in the Dmytro Yavornytsky National Historical Museum of Dnipro. Aside from traditional pysanky patterns, she also makes her own. She uses the batik technique with wax and paints. She has taken part in many exhibitions and fairs in Bulgaria, Poland and Ukraine. She’s a member of the Ukrainian Folk Artists’ Association.
