Vira Cherniak

Vira Cherniak is a journalist and works in Poltava’s regional radio station  “Ltava”.  Her adventure with motanka dolls began with an audition focused on Natalia Svyrydiuk,  a well-known folk artist, master of motanka doll making. In 2010 Vira  attended Natalia’s workshop to interview her and she fell so in love with the dolls that she started making them herself.  Aside from dolls, she also makes traditional headbands. Her works have been featured at  Ukrainian-wide and regional collective exhibitions Vira received an award of distinction at the Jagiellonian Fair 2013.
