Ceramics and pottery

A young artist from Voskobijnyky in Poltava. He has been making pottery since 2008. He is a graduate of Poltava National Technical Yuriy Kondratyuk University, where he majored in decorative and applied arts. His works tend to focus on traditional forms of applied ceramic. These are usually clay mixing bowls (makutra), mugs, little pots, painted dishes, bowls, jugs or vases. The artist also looks for unusual forms of containers for water or wine,  kettles, tureens inspired by traditional folk art which he makes using clay and wood. His wife,  Diana Avanesyan, helps him decorate his products. They use floral or geometric motifs, often presenting archaic symbols connected with forces of nature,

Viacheslav Odarchenko  won the award for “The Artist of the Jagiellonian Fair” in 2012.
