Mirosława Grochocka
Ritual Art
Mirosława Grochocka started making Łowicz-style paper cut-outs when she was 10. She picked up the tradition from her mother, Felicja Kaźmierczak and her father’s sister Marianna Pietrzak, Antoni’s daughter. It is not common knowledge that once upon a time you used sheep shears to make these traditional paper cuts-outs. Mirosława still uses this technique and makes very precise compositions from multi-coloured paper. Mirosława is a member of Folk Artists’ Association.
