Maria Gleń

A folk artist from Krasnystaw, writes poems and fairy tales for children. In 2009 she published her ninth volume of poetry. Her lyrical poetry is simple and rich in terms of form and content. Maria makes paper cutouts, crepe paper flowers, pisanki and palms. She takes part in exhibitions, contests in Poland and abroad. she has been a member of Folk Artists’ Association in Lublin. Maria’s work has been awardeded, for instance Oskar Kolberg Prize in 1997, the silver medal “Gloria Artis” for merits to Culture. She has around 12 diplomas and distinctions.
