Małgorzata Ostrowska

Małgorzata Ostrowska specialises in Żywiec embroidery on tulle. She fills cotton tulle with white embroidery created following traditional patterns. Her family has had the tradition of wearing  traditional Żywiec middle-class garb, but only Małgorzata started practising this form of embroidery, which is an important element of local clothes. She also decorates pysanky eggs using local patterns. For the last 11 years, she has been teaching crafts in the Żywiec School of Folklore. She is a member of Folk Artist’s Association and The Society of Enthusiasts of the Żywiec Region.
