Kazimiera Makopwska has been weaving since 1958. It’s a family tradition. She gained her knowledged and practised her skills under the guidance of Franciszka Rybko in folk artists’ club in Lipsk. Double warp weaving is a technique only known in north-east Poland. Double-warp carpets are woolen, rich in patterns and original structure. They are made from two layers with contrasting colours. She has received the Silver Cross of Merit and many other awards. She is a member of Folk Artists’ Association and Stowarzyszenie Miłośników Lipskiej Pisanki i Tradycji (lit.
