Alla Makarian

Alla Markarian is a member of the Poltavan Association of Ukrainian Folk Artists. She has been wood carving since 1988. She studied under Oleksandr Chvala. Since 2009, she has been making motanki dolls, a craft she has learned from Natalia Sviridyuk. Her husbandm Volodymyr Makarian has taught her stamping. She also makes paper cut-outs and is involved in other folk crafts. She has displayed her work at many fairs in Ukraine and abroad (Austria, Hungary, Poland, Serbia and Turkey, among others). She has received many awards and diplomas. She has been awarded the title of a distinguished folk artist.
