Aleksander Bielak

Aleksander Bielak is the only Jagiellonian Fair artist who makes baskets out of pine root. He learned braiding from his grandfather and father. He comes from Zdzisławice, a village that neighbours with Kocudza made famous by the “Jarzębina” ensemble. He is a first-rate dancer, knows all varieties of polka and obereks from his region. He is a member of the “Janowiacy” Ensemble. In 2013 he received the award for “The Artist of the Jagiellonian Fair”.
