Agata Jakończuk

Agata Jakończuk makes embroidered makatka tapestries, towles or doilies. She comes from a familiy that has cultivated folk crafts – embroidery, weaving, lacework and sculpting. She learned hand weaving from her mother, aunt and older sister. Ms Jakończuk has been specialising in this craft since 1962. She’s a member of Folk Artists’ Association. She has received distinctions at contests in Lublin, Węgorzew and Sokółka.
