Even though the largest festivals in Lublin have been organized for many years, it is only in 2017 that they have become the subject of thorough research. The project called “Wpływ lubelskich festiwali plenerowych na rozwój gospodarczy i społeczny Lublina” (English: The influence of Lublin’s outdoor festivals on Lublin’s socio-economic development) has resulted in a comprehensive and in-depth study about the four well-known and liked events: Night of Culture, East of Culture – Different Sounds, Carnaval Sztukmistrzów and the Jagiellonian Fair. The results of the research clearly indicate that these events are very successful – not just in terms of the number of visitors but also in terms of strengthening the city’s image among Lubliners and in Poland, creating a demand for various products or services or keeping a high level of organization and artistic quality.
The conference at Workshops of Culture will be an opportunity to summarise the 10-year-long history of Lublin’s festivals and to consider their future and significance for Lublin. The research team will present the most important conclusions and results of the research. They will become the point of reference for presentations by renowned experts and researchers who will present their comments and recommendations for Lublin.
This conference is addressed to anyone interested in broadly defined development of Lublin – artists, animators and culture managers, scientists and researchers, activists, officials, journalists, entrepreneurs, residents. Earlier registration is required (only then you can receive a free copy of the research report. The report is in Polish).
