Journeys in time – photography and more | The Jagiellonian Fair

Maciejówka cap, photography studio from a century ago and  guided tours – registrations begin for Jagiellonian Fair events with a limited number of places.  English-language tours do not require registration.

Beautiful photos taken with an ancient camera, using noble photography techniques – such things can happen only during the Jagiellonian Fair. In po Farze square we will see a mobile photography studio resembling those of centuries past. Behind the camera we will see Roman Kravchenko – the supervisor of the Photography Studio in the Hartwig Alley. The participants of the Jagiellonian Fair will be able to take a photo wearing folk costumes, most of all in maciejówka caom the symbol if the fight for freedom, They were worn by the marshal Józef Piłsudski and made them the official cao of riflemen’s associations, and then the soldiers of Brigade I of the Polish Legions. Folk costumes have been borrowed from the Lublin Village Museum and the private collections of Paweł Warowny, and the maciejówka cap was made in collaboration with “Nomad Service” manufactory. This is how we are going to celebrate the centenary of Poland regaining independence, celebrated in Lublin under the motto: “Lublin 1918-2018. Inspired by freedom”. The commemorative photo, made using the talbotype technique on a photographic paper 9×12 cm, can be taken home to recall the time at the Jagiellonian Fair.
