Janusz Prusinowski Kompania

A group of musicians who cultivate the music traditions of their teachers, the village masters of improvised mazurkas and obereks – Jan Lewandowski, Kazimierz Meto, Józef Zaraś, Piotr and Jan Gaca, Stanisław Stępniak. They are also an avant-garde band with their own characteristic sound and language of improvisation. Their repertoire consists of songs and dances from central Poland, most of all mazurkas – sung, improvised, wild and uninhibited. They complement music with dance, combine concerts tours with workshops and blend the knowledge of old musicianship with contemporary sensitivity.
