Singing Workshop with Olena Goncharenko (female group)

Ethnomusicologist, educationalist, singer, graduate of the V. Nezhdanova Odessa State Musical Academy (1993) and postgraduate studies at the Sumy State ‘A.S. Makarenko’ Pedagogical University (2007). Since 1992 she has been teaching music and theory at music schools and universities. She’s a member and research associate at many institutions and orgnaizations dealing with traditional music. She has written on methodology of researching traditional Ukrainian ritual singing. A practitioner and expert on traditional singing, she organizes a youth folklore movement in the Sumy region. She leads the “Serpanok” ensemble that works on mastering the styles of traditional singing from north-east Ukraine. She works with the bands “Hurtopravci” and “Babsky Kozachok”
