“There was an old man and his wife”. The old man and wife in Andrzej Kondratiuk’s film aren’t quite so old yet. They live somewhere off the beaten trach, in a small hut by the lake. He’s an eccentric, indomitable inventor wjo invents and builds various devices and machines that have long bene invented by others. But it doesn’t matter because he does it not in order to get patents but to make his wife happy, to make her smile. The “neither sow nor plow” and spenf their time on small everyday activities. Away from human settlements, they live a happy life surrounded by beautiful, pristine nature.
Kondratiuk’s original film has a simple message: it is an affirmation of life based on simple, basic values such as symbiosis with nature, love and understanding towards others and trust. [PAT] source: www.filmpolski.pl, runtime: 58 mins.
