Maria Pęzik (b. 1943), singer
She is one of the most talented singers from Gałki Rusinowskie. She sings in regional dialect using techniques typical for village music. Her rich repertoire includes music related to family rituals and the liturgical year, songs accompanying household and field works, lullabies, ballads as well as countless ditties.
She has been raised in a village in which singing has always been an inseparable part of everyday life, which significantly affected her personality. Music is a natural form of expression for her. It reinvigorates her and her legs are “eager” to dance.
Towards the end of the 1970s she became a member of the ensemble “Zakukała Kukułeczka”, established in Gałki Rusinowskie. Since then, she has presented her vocal skills predominantly on stage, earning credit foro solo singing as well. As an excellent dancer, she also gained recognition in traditional folk dance contests.
Since 2012, she has been a member of the ensemble “Gołcunecki” led by Maria Siwecie, whose other members include: Zofia Kucharczyk, Jadwiga Dziedzic, Maria Oracz and Zofia Bykowska. In 2013, “Gołcunecki” was the first ever ensemble from the Radom region to win “Baszta” award at the 47th Festival of Folk Bands and Singers in Kazimierz Dolny.
Paulina Przybysz, Maria Pęzik and the ladies from the ensemble “Gołcunecki” will be accompanied on the stage by kapela Pańczaków (the band of Pańczak brothers) featuring Adam Tarnowski.
